DESMON J MAHESA “MAY THE ACT ACCOMMODATE JUDGES NECESSITY”
“May the Act accommodate judges neccesity” Hope Desmon J Mahesa, vice chief of Commission Three of Parliament of the Republic of Indonesia in meeting with four judicial in Banjarmasin Province on August, 1 2016 at Banjarmasin General Court hall. In front of dozens judges, Desmond as a Head of Group explains that the presence of Commission Three in Banjarmasin Court area to get suggestion in legal drafting on Judge Position that now days in harmonization part in House of Representatives of Republic of Indonesia. Besides that, the meeting also purposed to see kind of obstacles in law enforcement.
In the meeting, Banjarmasin Judges doubtless to give suggestion and question to complete the Judge Position Act, they hope the implementation of the act can run well. One of questions delivered by Ad Hoc Judge in Banjarmasin High Court, he asked what did Ad Hoc Judges included too in that Act? Desmon Mahesa asks his back, “What did you want exactly?.” Desmond’s question was greeted with rousing applause from all judges.
As a sample in the selection of judge of Supreme Court to be, suggested that all high judges can follow the selection which was no rules that state how long judge must become high judge. “If there is rule how long we work in High Court, until retiring we ever not be able to be honorable judge.” Said the other judges. One of Chief of General Court complains that budget in Prodeo Trial (free trial for poor people) implementation is low. “Actually the budget was there, but it’s just enough until February only, right now if we will hold Prodeo Trial and appoint the lawyer, definitely the lawyer will escape fastly, because they do know that it will not be paid. For this reason, we hope from parliament of Commission Three focus on Prodeo Trial budget, because we must service all public especially poor public.”
Work visiting of Commission Three of Parliament of Republic of Indonesia attended by Head of Banjarmasin High Court, Head of Banjarmasin Religious High Court, Administrative Court of Banjarmasin and Head of Military Court of Banjarmasin. In speech, Head of Banjarmasin High Court complains that trial room in Banjarmasin General Court still minim. All trial room was in second floor, it caused public crowd in front of trial room, judge room until Head of Court’s room.
