IN MEMORIAM: THE HON. JUSTICE WAHIDIN.

Jakarta – Public Relation: Innalilalhi wainna ilaihi rajiun (We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return). The Hon. Justice Wahidin (one of justice in Criminal Cases Chamber), has passed away on March, 3rd 2019 in Mitra Kemayoran Hospital.

Wahidin death’s has surprised many people, because Wahidin still exist in his office on Friday, March, 1st 2019 did his routine activity.

The Hon. Chief Justice of Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hatta Ali, SH., MH., The Hon. Vice Chief Justice of Supreme Court for Judicial Matters Dr. M. Syarifuddin, SH., MH., and The Hon. Vice Chief Justice for Non Judicial Matters Dr. Sunarto, SH., MH., really sorry for losing one of their colleague. On behalf Supreme Court, Hatta Ali delivered the deepest condolences and prayed may God give him eternal rest and May God forgive and accept his soul.

And as tribute on what Wahidin dedicated for The Supreme Court, Hatta Ali planed if the body of Wahidin buried in Supreme Court Building firstly before taken off to Pekanbaru, his hometown. Hatta Ali hoped the Supreme Court big family can give the last tribute to almarhum.

Consider to time and holiday, the planning changed. The Hon. Chief of Religious Chamber Dr. Amran Suadi, SH., MH delegated to accompany almarhum to his hometown, Pekanbaru, to deliver directly the body of almarhum Wahidin to his family and accompany the Hon. Wahidin to the last eternal rest.

CLOSER TO THE HON. WAHIDIN

The Hon. Wahidin born in Batam on October, 10th 1951 and begin his carrier in judiciary as a staff since January 1978. His carrier as judge started on February, 27th 1991 or thirteen years after his dedication.

18 years followed, the Hon. Wahidin started his carrier as high judge for seven years before inaugurated as justice on July, 22nd 2015 gathered with 5 justices, namely Dr. H. Sunarto, S.H., M.H. (currently became Vice Chief Justice for non-Judicial Matters), H. Suhardjono, S.H., M.H., Maria Anna Samiyati, S.H., M. H., Yosran, S.H., M. Hum., Dr. H. A. Mukti Arto, S.H., M.H.

The father of four (wandi Ardha, David Effendy, Ceciana Wati and Ilfi Rakhmi) started his carrier in Bengkalis, then he moved to many cities such as Bengkulu, Painan, Sawah Lunto, Tarakan, Jambi, and Bandung to do his carrier as judge. The last city for Wahidin was Jakarta, he achieved the top carrier there as justice in Supreme Court.

The Husband of Hartety finalized his last study in University Utara Malaysia (UUM) in philosophy, before the man who like to read finalized his law magister in Andalas University, Padang.

Handling the Spotlight Cases

During his carrier as judge in dozens years, Wahidin was handled the spotlight cases such as Dimas Kanjeng Taat Pribadi and Ramadan Pohan cases.

In both cases, the Hon. Justice Wahidin became one of justice with the Hon. Justice Margono and lead by the Hon. Justice Andi Abu Ayub. In cassation level the both cases was rejected, then Dimas Kanjeng Taat Pribadi still sentenced in 18th years and Ramadan Pohan 3 years in prison.

In his colleagues view, the Hon. Justice Wahidin well known as dedicated and hard worker. Even though he has hard illness.

“During his carrier in the Supreme Court, the Hon. Justice Wahidin was integrity and honest justice.” Said the Hon. Justice Amran Suadi when delivered the body of almarhum to his family in Pekanbaru.
