THE CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE SUPREME COURT OPENS THE INTEGRATIVE EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR JUDGE CANDIDATE PHASE III OF 2024
Bogor-PR: On Monday, 27 May 2024 at Megamendung Education and Training Agency, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Prof. Dr. H. M. Syarifuddin, S.H., M.H. officially opens the Integrative Education and Training for judge candidate Phase III of 2024.
In his opening speech, Prof. Syarifuddin says that becoming a judge is an intuition from our heart and is the purest intention to enforce justice. It is also your choice with the consequence that you must perform the duty genuinely, seriously, and sincerely and not betray the trust that God has bestowed upon you.
According to him, in the last few years, the Central Education and Training of the Supreme Court has declared “Cadas” as a slogan in every education and training which stands for “cerdas berintegritas” (intelligence with integrity). The meaning of the slogan is explaining a judge is not only intellectually intelligent but also has moral integrity.
“Therefore, during the training, you will be given various knowledge and skills by the lecturers, as your provision to become a professional judge. In addition, you will also be given education on behaviour, moral, ethic, and discipline, as ammunition to become a judge with integrity,” said the Chief Justice.
Furthermore, the Professor of Universitas Diponegoro says in the middle of the current deficit formation of judges, your presence will be fresh blood that strengthens Indonesia's judicial organs.
As we all know, by the end of 2023, there will only be 7370 judges at the first and appellate court for all judicial jurisdictions throughout Indonesia.
This number is certainly very insufficient when compared to the ratio number of the first and appellate court work units which is 923 work units. In fact, there are currently 42 First Court Work Units, especially in the Religious Courts, with only 2 judges, including the head (Chief Judge or Vice Chief Judge) of the Work Unit.
“This means that there are not enough judges in the court to form a panel, so all trials have to be conducted by a single judge,” said the Chief Justice.
On the same occasion, the Head of Policy Strategy of Law and Justice Education and Training of the Supreme Court, Bambang Hery Mulyono S.H., M.H in his report says currently, the participants of the Integrative Judge Candidate Education Program (PPCH) for 3 (three) Judicial Jurisdictions who participated in the 1 training phase 3 with a total of 465 people consisting of 279 from General Courts Judge Candidates learning in class divided into 7 classes. 114 from Religious Courts Judge Candidates are divided into 3 classes. Then 72 Administrative Courts Judge Candidates are divided into 2 classes.
The former Chief of Padang District Court says that the program aims to provide knowledge, skills, behavioral abilities, qualities, and personal integrity in an integrated manner; which in turn is expected that when they are appointed as judges, they are ready to perform their duties as judges.
By the end of his speech, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court hopes that after completing this education and training soon they may strengthen the judiciary of Indonesia with the spirit of “Cadas,” intelligence with integrity which is obtained from this training.
