SUPREME COURT HAS A NEW SPOKESPERSON

Jakarta – Public Relation: In 2018 End-Year Reflection (27/12), The Hon. Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. M. Hatta Ali, SH., MH., stated in his remarks that now Supreme Court Republic of Indonesia has a new spokesperson. This decision according to Hatta following assignment the last Spokesperson The Hon. Suhadi, SH., MH., as a Criminal Chief Chamber in October 2018. Furthermore, Supreme Court appointed The Hon. Dr. H. Andi Samsan Nganro, SH., MH., as a new Spokesperson of Supreme Court. This appointment based on Decree of Chief Justice of Supreme Court Number 279/KMA/SK/XII/2018.

According to the appointment, Andi Samsan Nganro in his room said that he will try to do that mandate as good as he can. “Spokesperson main job is communicating the strategy and the policy of institution to public.” Andi stated.

Andi said that the policy consist of regulation, managing, developing, and controlling which applied by Supreme Court to apparatus and Judiciary under the Supreme Court.

Besides that, Andi continued that he expected to inform the achievement and also institution triumph that public need to know. Andi trust that information came from the source can influence public perception to institution. It is because that information has a clear source and the accuracy can be guarantee.

Nevertheless, Andi Said perception of institution can be influenced by inaccurate information. Therefore, as spokesperson Andi will try to correct and place it proportionally.

In implementing the duty as spokesperson, Andi realizes that kind of challenges might be faced, especially from press side which was more likely to be less positive. Nevertheless, he promised to be open and cooperate with the press. “We, somehow, must inform the information that public and press must know.” Said the former of Chief of Jakarta Selatan District Court.

According to Andi, beside information, the justice produced by judges trough their decision must be published too. “So that public understand how to process and concept the justice.” Added Andi.

Armed with three main keys

For Andi, being spokesperson is not the new thing. At least, He ever became spokesperson when he was the judge in First Court and Appellate Court. The cases he ever handled got public attention, such as case of Akbar Tanjung and Antasari Azhar. These experiences at least can be key in implementing his duty now.

The other key, according to Andi, his curiosity in press and press industry. “Although I have no dare to claim as press observer, at least I see how the press life, how the news covered until it will be published to public.” Said the former of Chief of Jakarta Pusat District Court.

The other key that has contribution according to Andi was the example showed by previous Spokesperson the Hon Suhadi, SH., MH. Andi said that as Spokesperson Suhadi has implemented his duty very well in communicating the existence of institution. “I’ve observed the way implemented by Suhadi, and I will imitate his success.” Continued Andi.
