CHIEF JUSTICE SYARIFUDDIN PERFORMS GROUNDBREAKING OF PANGKALAN BALAI DISTRICT COURT
Banyuasin – Public Relations: In the sideline of work visit to Palembang, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Dr. H. M. Syarifuddin, S.H., M.H, performs groundbreaking Pangkalan Balai District Court on Thursday, November 12th, 2020, at Banyuasin district government administration complex.
In the remarks, Chief Justice Syarifuddin says building the District Court of Pangkalan Balai is a follow up of building the 85 new courts based on President Decree Number 13 to 18 of 2016 on Building New Courts that has been legalized the operation on October 22, 2018, at Melonguane, Kepulauan Talaud District, North Sulawesi.
Furthermore, Chief Justice states that all apparatus must concern with the building process and planning of workspace and service layout to fulfill the needs of justice seekers following the current situation and conditions, especially in fulfilling the needs of persons with disabilities in the judicial process as amended by Government Regulation Number 39 of 2020 on Adequate Accommodation for Persons with Disabilities in Judicial Process.
According to the former Head of the Supervision Agency, the formation of a new court is an effort made by the Supreme Court to get closer to justice seekers, so that legal services can be obtained more quickly, easily and low cost by placing the court location not too far from the domicile location of justice seekers.
The Pangkalan Balai District Court Building was built on an area of 4,452 M2 using the State Budget of IDR 21,552,000,000 and it is estimated that the construction will be completed in 2021.
The groundbreaking ceremony which implemented by strict health protocol was also attended by the Vice Chief Justice for Non-Judicial Matters, the Chief of the Development Chamber, Justice Prof. Surya Jaya, the Regent of Banyuasin as well as leaders of the regional of Banyuasin Regency.
